Cue Sad Trombone. Pass me a beer to cry into. Now leave me alone to weep.

OK, so the referee didn’t help with his interesting interpretations of “advantage” – but did City deserve to win? No. The best we can say is that 1-0 flattered a poor Port Vale side. Let’s hope City can do what they do best over the next few weeks and surprise us. I say “surprise”, because promotion suddenly seems more unlikely than it has at any other stage of the season. It almost feels like we are underdogs again. Perhaps that will suit our players and fans and we can all pull together and drag ourselves back into at least the top 7 and give ourselves a chance of League One football next season.
