Manny Dominguez is currently promoting a stand-up-sit-down campaign for safe standing areas and The Lib Dems are debating safe standing at their Bournemouth conference in September. Standing accommodation is not intrinsically unsafe
Who said it? Lord Justice Taylor in 1989, that’s who. The campaign is a good one and well worth supporting. City don’t seem to be interested in safe standing areas – which is fair enough given the costs involved. And perhaps that money would be better spent in other areas. But if City were able to find a way to fund safe standing in the bottom tier of the Bradford End now we’ve reclaimed it from the away fans, perhaps people interested in standing could pledge to buy a season ticket for that part of the ground. Get enough pledges and we get safe standing and an improved atmosphere.
Sounds like a good idea to me.
